All summer, I've been saying how fast time is going, and how it seems like I'm always writing these weekly round up posts. But this week, I can barely remember Monday.
Now that I have a start date for my new job (the 28th, eeek!), I've been trying to cram as much as much as possible into my days! I feel like it's been the longest week of the year, I've gotten so much done!
This week has also thrown me weather-wise, I can't keep up at all with torrential downpours followed by blistering sunshine. If anyone has any tips for dressing for the mad weather, I'm all ears!
Shall we talk about happy things?!
::1:: Sneaking out for a cheeky monday morning breakfast at McDonalds with Con. We were up and about early walking the dogs, and then taking him to the groomers, so we snuck in for a naughty Sausage and Egg McMuffin! It was nice to be a little naughty, and it set us up well for a busy working day!
::2:: Tuesday saw my first haircut in nearly a year. After trashing my hair during my first year of uni, I've become a bit precious about having my hair cut! I had a much needed snip this week, had my layers cut back in and got rid of all the scraggly bits! My hair looks and feels so much healthier now!
::3:: My mama's birthday was this week! Whilst our plans for a picnic at Monkey World were scuppered by the rain, we still enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the morning at a favourite restaurant of ours, followed by a lazy day tucked up inside. It was nice to spend time with my family, knowing we were headed back to London soon!
::4:: Shopping for work clothes! A new job brings a good excuse for new clothes! I had a good old splurge this week, and I'm excited to put my new wardrobe into action!
::5:: Snuggling with the kittys. We had a house full of sad kittys this week, who spent most of their time looking wistfully out the window at the rain. Since they couldn't be out in the garden playing catch the spider, they were quite happy to spend the week snuggling, and really, is there anything better than kitty cuddles?
::6:: Dressing for autumn - finally. Is there anything better than dresses, boots and cosy scarves? I think not.
::7:: Family time. We've spent a lot of time with our families this week, since we knew we were headed back to London. We picked up Connor's little sister Ella from school on Friday, and took her for sundaes and waffles as a little treat. Not only were the waffles fantastic, it was so good to spend time chatting with her, she's so much like I was at her age!
::8:: Not having to drive everywhere! This week I renewed my car insurance and added Con to the policy, which basically means I now have a chauffeur. It's fantastic, especially when his mum asks if I want another Jack Daniels and coke with dinner. Yes please!
::9:: An impromptu date night! Con and I spent the entire summer saying we'd go try out Chicken and Blues, a new(ish) restaurant in Bournemouth, and realised on Saturday night whilst packing up to go back to London, that we still hadn't been. We hopped in the car and headed out for delicious southern style chicken, that got an A+ from both of us.
::10:: Being back in London. After a few tears leaving home, and a long drive back to London, it actually feels really good to be back in the flat, and I'm excited to make the most of my last week of freedom!
I hope you've all had a wonderful week! x
