What a horrifying thought. I sometimes think how lovely it would be to have a makeup collection that would fit in just one small makeup bag, imagine the freedom to do other things with your life! But a makeup hoarder I am, and I couldn't bear to part with any of it. I did however have a bit of a think, if (God forbid) anything were to happen to my makeup, what bits would I go out and repurchase immediately? What are the bits I wouldn't want to be without. This post could be a bit reduntant for some of you, if you've been around here for a while you could probably guess a lot of this post, but these are the makeup bits that I would repurchase without hesitation.
I've proclaimed my love for the Max Factor Facefinity Foundation many a time on this corner of the internet. It's my go to for bad skin days, days I want my makeup to last impossibly long, or if I just want my skin to look flawless. High coverage, but not heavy on the skin, and still natural looking. On days when I don't necessarily need heavy coverage, or want something a little more glowy, I love the Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation. I feel like I don't talk about this foundation enough, It's definitely one of my absolute favourites, I actually have two floating around in my collection. This was challenged by my new found love for the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, however the Chanel offering doesn't quite match up to the lasting power of this bad boy. Concealer is a product I often flit between, but something I never want to be without in my collection is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Amazing coverage, works well under eyes and on blemishes, stays put really well, and can be applied later in the day over makeup as a touch up, and doesn't cake. This stuff definitely qualifies as holy grail.
When it comes to eyes, I wouldn't want to be without my MAC Painterly Paint Pot. I probably use this at least five days out of seven, it's my favourite, go-to base for my eyes. The creamy pigment really boosts the colour of eyeshadows applied over the top. When it comes to eyeshadows, I think I'd end up buying the Naked Palettes again, but I definitely would want to repurchase my NARS And God Created The Woman Palette, even though it was limited edition. Equally, now that I have it, I wouldn't want to be without my NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette. I just love NARS Eyeshadows and I would definitely go straight out and splurge. Mascara wise, I love my YSL Shocking Volume Mascara, but I would be right out repurchasing the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara, which is the easiest mascara in the world to wear, wiggle it across your lashes once and it gives big thick fluttery lashes. In the last few months I have gotten totally hooked on the Soap And Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil, and I can see myself repurchasing it until they don't sell them anymore. The perfect brow product for natural but defined brows.
When it comes to bronzer, there's nothing I love more than the NARS Laguna Bronzer, it's like bronzed skin and cheekbones in a pan. I recently hit pan on this and it's definitely something I'll repurchase. I have to admit, recently I've been reaching for the Body Shop Honey Bronzer more, but whilst that's a good contour, it's not any good as a bronzer, but Laguna is great for both. Also, I'm a touch pale right now, so Laguna really adds colour back to my skin. I debated for ages over blushes, but the honest answer is I would probably go on a NARS splurge and repurchase every one I have. My absolute favourite is Day Dream, but again that was limited edition. I would definitely have to pick up the Creme Blush De Chanel in Revelation, this is probably my most used blush, gorgeous colour and it lasts so well on my skin. Also for the cheek, I'd repurchase the Space N.K. Contour Brush again without hesitation. Beautifully soft and really picks up and deposits a ton of product, and blends well too, I use this for powder, blush, bronze and highlight, I'm obsessed.
As for lips, I couldn't be without my Nuxe Reve De Miel. I know for a lip balm this stuff is pretty pricey, but I use it every day and I've had it since September and I'm only just halfway through. As far as lip colours go, I couldn't be without MAC Syrup lipstick, my go to everyday shade, and the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Streak, a super wearable, creamy coral that I'm currently addicted to.
What products could you not be without?
I couldn't be without my revlon colorstay foundation, physician's formula organic wear mascara and chi chi nudes eyeshadow palette. Loved this post :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try Nars Laguna bronzer but at the mo its just such a splurge! Same with Shocking mascara. I love love love Archery- its the only product I can do my brows with. Such a pretty photograph also. One of my HG items is the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I don't know what I'd do without it- it applies foundation and cream blush flawlessly.
