The Lipstick Tag

I was tagged by the wonderful Tamira over at The Guilty Girl to do The Lipstick Tag. This is a tag which I'm pretty sure will reveal things about my beauty habits which will disgust me, I've been on a lipstick kick recently, buying left right and center, so my collections looking pretty shocking. But I find that a good lipstick can do so much, for my face and my mood, so hell, what's wrong with having a few too many?

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

Before I counted for the purpose of this tag, I guessed around 25, but the sad truth it's actually around 45, I had no idea! 15 are MAC, which makes up the bulk, I get gifted MAC Lipsticks a lot, and the rest have been accumulated over the last year and a half, some were PR Samples, some were in goodie bags, I definitely haven't bought 45! A lot of them don't actually get used either!

2. What was the first lipstick you owned?

It was a No7 Lipstick that I pinched from my Mum's beauty stash, a 'my lips but better' sort of shade, a berry tone with a hint of shimmer. I thought I was incredibly cool because the packaging felt really swish and luxurious, and I carried it around from the age of about 13 til 16, way past it's use by date! I've got a feeling the bullet is still in a drawer somewhere in my bedroom back home, but I may have finally chucked it!

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?

Oh gosh just one? I have more MAC Lipsticks than any other brand because I feel like they have every shade I could possibly want, but I think recently, the most impressive brand to me has been Urban Decay. The pigmentation of their lipsticks are incredible, and the lasting power is amazing. Another range I'm loving right now are the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colours, which are just dreamy.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?

I tend to flit between products a lot so it's really hard to pick just one. I've only ever used up one whole lipstick, the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine #17 in Rose In Tension, but that was only because I had to wear it to work every day during the summer. In my day to day life my most used lipstick is probably MAC Syrup, a lipstick I only got back in November, but I have worn a ton since then.

5. What is your favourite finish?

Whilst I love a good matte finish lipstick my lips are prone to dry/flakiness, so it doesn't always suit me. On a daily basis I love creamy formulas, like the MAC Creamsheens, Rimmel Moisture Renews, and Urban Decay Revolutions.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?

Disregarding glosses and chubby stick pencils and the like, the last actual lipstick I bought was the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Pink Flush, a colour I adore. It's beautiful.

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

At this exact moment, I have , the Topshop lipstick in Beatnik, the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Pink Flush, a Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm, the Tanya Burr Lipstick in Picnic in the Park, and the MAC lipstick Craving. So five. That's not excessive, is it? I like options okay...

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?

At the moment, the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout, it's such a flattering, easy to wear red, and although it's matte it's not at all drying. Everyone needs to try out this colour!

9. How do you store your lipsticks?

I keep my MAC lipsticks and my most worn shades in my Muji Clear Acrylic drawers, and the rest are in my Ikea Helmer Drawers. You can see my full makeup storage post here. 

 
10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?

I really want more of the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colours, and I'd also like to get my hands on another of the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine's in #17.
