Brushes aren't something I buy on a regular basis, I like what I like, I have a solid collection, and I'm happy with it. Also, brushes are expensive generally, I find parting with £25 for one single brush heartbreaking. As a result, I kind of forget to talk about brushes here, in fact the last post on my brush line up was back in January last year, so I figured it was about time for an update.
I'm not gonna run you through everything I use since, for the most part, it's similar to this, but I wanted to chat to you about a couple of brushes I'm really loving right now.
First up, I'm just gonna briefly touch on two brushes that I really love for concealer. For applying product under my eyes, or anything creamy really, I love the Nanshy Pointed Concealer Brush, it's perfect for really pressing concealer into the skin without pushing it about, and it doesn't absorb the product either. I've never been so impressed by a concealer brush, and I'd recommend this to any other concealer maniacs. Secondly, I wanted to mention the Nanshy Tapered Crease Brush, which is meant to be for the eyes, but I really love it for pinpoint concealing. I use this with my MAC Studio Finish Concealer, just to press product onto any blemishes, and blend it out. It doesn't deposit too much product, and it blends the product in seamlessly.
Despite not really loving the Bold Metals Powder or Contour brush, I, errr, bought another brush from the line. I know I know, but let me explain. I wasn't happy with any of my blush brushes, I wanted something dinky and tapered, that didn't pick up too much product. I wanted something for a lighter, more precise blush application, and the Bold Metals Blush Brush ended up being perfect. The nature of the bristles means that it only picks up a light dusting of colour, and the brush is small & soft enough to allow for precise application but good blending. This brush is far superior to it's siblings.
And lastly, I wanted to mention an eye brush I've had for ages, but only recently started using. I normally find the brushes that come with palettes to be, well, quite shit really, but I've recently fallen in love with using the brush that came with my Naked 3 palette. On one end is a thick, soft, domed bristled brush, perfect for those one wash shades you want to apply all over the lid and blend into the crease. It's super easy to get a gorgeous eye look with this brush!
