When I picked up the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector, I knew I'd like it, but I definitely didn't realise how much I'd like it.
I've had some seriously chapped lips recently, which is odd because they were fine all through winter, but as soon as the weather picked up, they went downhill. Weird. Anyway, they've been too uncomfortable to sport lipstick, so I was relying solely on lashings of lip balm and the Dior Lip Glow when I wanted a little colour. The Dior Lip Glow was pretty pricey, and it was vanishing at a rapid rate of knots, so I started the hunt for a less pricey alternative.
Whilst the price tag of the Clarins is hardly drugstore, it's still nearly half the price of Dior's offering, so it's definitely an improvement. I picked up the shade 03, My Pink, which is the closest to the Lip Glow, a pretty hint of pink.
As far as formula goes, I think this is a touch more hydrating than Dior, it's definitely creamier on application, it almost melts against your lips. However, the Dior just wins for me, since the colour tends to hang around a touch longer, and you just can't beat that luxury feeling you get with a Dior lipstick.
I'm still really pleased with this little number though, it's dinky and it's packaging is cute, perfect for chucking in your bag on the go, and despite the £18 price tag, I think it's worth the splurge if you're after a day appropriate lip colour that'll really nourish your pout.
