I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit of a high end girl at heart. There are a lot of products I love from the drugstore, but on a day to day basis the majority of the products I use are more pricey. Whilst I'm happy to pay the price for a good product, there are a few that sting a little.
A few years ago on my birthday, my mum treated me to a tube of the wildly luxurious YSL Shocking Volume Mascara, clocking in at a gut wrenching £23. Little did she know she started an addiction that actually caused me to apply for, and get a job at YSL. I love it that much. However, whilst £23 isn't wildly expensive in the makeup world, it's a lot to pay for a mascara which, strictly speaking, you should ditch after two to three months. Now I try to avoid purchasing it, but every now and then I treat myself, and fall in love all over again.
I've mentioned the Dior Lip Glow a lot here, and for good reason. It's my most reached for lip product without a doubt, perfect for every makeup look, every day, but with a £24 price tag, it's not the sort of product you want to be racing through. I'd splurge on this over a bold lipstick time and time again, because I'm more likely to get my money's worth, but it's still painful when you go through one every few months.
There are a ton of drugstore powders that you can pick up for under a fiver, that are great. However, I've never found a powder better than the Chanel Les Beiges. It's lightweight, mattifying and it really doesn't compromise on glow. The price is one you'll want to whisper, £39, but it's incredibly long lasting, my last compact was with me over a year, which makes it a little less painful.
I try not to mention it too often, because the price point is the most ridiculous of this bunch, but if you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know that the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is my one true primer love. This stuff is just the bomb, it smoothes the skin and creates the perfect site for your makeup to adhere to. This is the only primer I've ever used that keeps my foundation looking freshly applied no matter how long I'm out. It's a miracle worker in my eyes, but miracles don't come cheap, £52 to be precise. That price tag is utterly eye watering, I've so far managed to get around it by getting all the samples, but I'll have to buy one soon. It's amazing and worth every penny, but it still hurts.
Have you got any products you love, but can't look at the price tag of?
