I find painting my nails seriously tedious. All the faffing about with base coat, multiple layers and topcoats, sitting around waiting for them to dry and then inevitably smudging them when I go to the loo/put my shoes on/get something out of my handbag, it's just such a hassle.
However, I still love the look of my nails with polish, and I'm always on the hunt for the new perfect nail colour. I've got a few I'm really loving right now, and whilst they aren't all exactly seasonal picks, I thought I'd share them all the same.
Sound the klaxon, because I finally found my perfect red nail polish. It's from Essie (of course) and it shares it's name with one of my favourite MAC Lipsticks, Russian Red. It's pretty similar to the lipstick in colour too, a just slightly darker than your classic red polish, it's the perfect colour for my skin tone. There's just something about a good red nail polish!
Also from the Essie red family is Too Too Hot, my toe polish of choice. A red with a slight orangey pink tint, it's summery and oh so pretty. I've repainted my toes with this a good five times in a row recently.
I mentioned my current love for the Nails Inc NailKale in Duke Street in this post, so I won't go on about that, but I do need to mention the Nails Inc shades Bloomsbury Way and White Horse Street. White Horse Street is from The New White collection and is my perfect pastel greige polish, whilst Bloomsbury Way is the prettiest Blossom Effect polish I ever did see. I can't get enough of this combo right now.
