I go in phases with liner, throughout my teenage years you wouldn't have caught me without a thick black liner, but since starting uni I've eased up on liner as a whole, and will happily go without. That being said, I still love how liner looks, and whilst you won't really find me sporting the thick black Nike swooshes of my youth on my lids, I still dabble with a little liner lovin' on the regular.
For day to day when I'm not after drama, I tend to reach for either the Soap and Glory Smoulder and Kohl pencil in Brown, a soft dark brown that just adds a hint of definition, or the Smashbox Waterpoof Liner in Bronze. The Smashbox offering adds a little bit more oomph, whilst still being fairly neutral.
For when something a little more is required, I love the By Terry Kohl Terrybly in 03, a bronze so dark it's almost black, just not quite. The formula of this is fantastic, soft and easy to apply, but incredibly long wearing and not smudgy in the slightest. I also love the L'Oreal Uperliner for in the waterline, it's so long wearing, but it's a little firmer than any other pencils I've tried, so it lasts better in the waterline.
For when nothing but the blackest black will do, I've yet to find anything that beats the Urban Decay 24/7 Superliner in Perversion, a jet matte black. These almost apply more like gels, but set down to stay put all day. Or if I'm feeling more of a liquid jam, there's nothing better than the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Easy to use thin nib that makes precise winged liner a dream.
