The May Makeup Bag

It feels like only yesterday I was switching up my rotation for the month of April, but maybe it only feels that way because I didn't wear much makeup last month. Now that May is upon us, I've picked out products that are both light and glowy, but also some new picks I'm looking to road test. Also, a lot of these makeup picks are pretty simple, May is my hand in month so until the 18th, makeup is unfortunately, not a priority.

I've pulled out my Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser, it's been a while since I've given it some loving. It's incredibly lightweight on the skin, it doesn't really offer much in the way of coverage, but it gives a bit of colour to my skin, whilst evening out any discolouration. It's a nice, lightweight, low maintenance base option. I've also pulled my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer out of retirement. Not the highest coverage concealer, but it does a fantastic job of brightening the under eye area, something I desperately need right now.

I'm really into cream cheek products right now, especially those that just offer a hint of colour. I'm getting back into using the Josie Maran Creamy Lip and Cheek Oil in Limitless Pink, a pretty soft rose shade that just hints at pink on the cheeks, whilst giving a little glow to the complexion. I'm pairing it with the No 7 Pop and Glow Highlighter, a pretty champagne sheen that is beautifully subtle, but also gorgeously glowy.

I'm not gonna have the time to faff with eyeshadow this month, so I'm gonna be reaching for the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Leather Effect in Creamy Beige, a subtle soft brown shade. To amp up the volume I'm pairing it with the YSL Shocking Volume Mascara, for easy thick lashes. I'm currently trialling the new Soap and Glory Archery DIY Brow Bar* too, so I'll report back how I get on with that!

Lip colour-wise, I'm keeping things simple, with The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care for day to day, and the Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adriene, a pretty peach nude. Keepin' it simple.

My current go to fragrance is the Diptyque Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette, it's my favourite musky vanilla scent but it's a little lighter since it's a Toilette not Parfum. Not the most spring appropriate scent but it is a little bit lighter!

What are your product picks for the month?
